This book written in the middle of the 17th century in ancient English can either be humorous or frightening. This was written to aid good people in discovering witches in their midst so they might be killed!
Why did people want to kill witches? You can blame this action on the church, in order to have complete domination of peoples lives and fortunes it was necessary for the church to spread false rumors regarding witches. Like most decisions of the early church it was based on business and greed. If alternative religions were to be allowed that would compete with the church for donations and tithes.
Witches have never worshiped Satan, the Devil was invented by the church so good and evil could balance out. And scare the populace into following the decrees of the church lest they be condemned to hell.

Love spells and Prayers are very similar. My opinion is that God gets tired of prayers recited by rote which I was taught to do as a child growing up Catholic. They have to bore God since there is no personal feeling, just some idiot reciting words as fast as possible without any thought.

First you need a quiet place where you will not be disturbed. I prefer a darkened room, with the only light being candlelight. You may want to burn some incense to replace the distraction of household scents. If you have personal objects or photos of your desired individual gather those as well. Favored objects of course are fingernails, hair, blood or other bodily fluids. A worn, sweaty shirt or underpants is also a good thing to have with you. The purpose of these items are to help you focus on the object of your affection, I mean if you had a stray thought of someone else during the spell the universe would possibly read that and your energy would hook you up to the wrong individual.
You basically need to visualize the object of your affection as already being your lover, sharing and caring, enjoying life as a couple. This visualization is a very important step in manifesting your desire to the universe. Visualize as though it were already true, then verbalize you desires to the universe. During the period when you are visualizing and verbalizing hold the personal objects in your hands. If you have some soiled garments hold those to your face and drink in the scent of your intended. Visualize the good times you will have as a couple, as if that person was already yours. Verbalize your desires to the universe. And remember to express gratitude to the universe for granting you this desire.
Repeat this as often as required until the universe manifests your desire and always remember to be grateful and express your gratitude to the universe often. These are the same basic steps outlined in “The Secret” and since they work well for riches they will work for any desire you may have.

The mass of existing material on this subject is so great that I have not
attempted to make a survey of the whole of European ‘Witchcraft’, but have
confined myself to an intensive study of the cult in Great Britain. In
order, however, to obtain a clearer understanding of the ritual and beliefs
I have had recourse to French and Flemish sources, as the cult appears to
have been the same throughout Western Europe. The New England records are
unfortunately not published _in extenso_; this is the more unfortunate as
the extracts already given to the public occasionally throw light on some
of the English practices. It is more difficult to trace the English
practices than the Scotch or French, for in England the cult was already in
a decadent condition when the records were made; therefore records in a
purely English colony would probably contain much of interest.
The sources from which the information is taken are the judicial records
and contemporary chroniclers. In the case of the chroniclers I have studied
their facts and not their opinions. I have also had access to some
unpublished trials among the Edinburgh Justiciary Records and also in the
Guernsey Greffe.
